Carriage

All flights of AIR UNIQON GmbH are operated by our partner avantiair GmbH & Co. KG. We use a 78-seat Bombardier Dash-8 Q400 aircraft. Additional information can be found on our Partner page and in our General Conditions of Carriage (GCC).

Payment

What payment methods do we offer?

We offer you three different payment methods.

SEPA direct debit

For group travel, travel agencies, clubs, etc. of 8 or more persons, you are welcome to send us an enquiry by email. In this case, we will issue you an invoice.

Can I cancel my payment and am I entitled to a refund?

That depends on the fare you have selected. Please check before booking whether cancellation or rebooking is offered in your selected fare.

Booking

Can I transfer my ticket to another person?

That depends on the fare you have selected. Please check before booking whether a name change is offered in your selected fare.

Can I view my booked ticket online on the AIR UNIQON website?

Yes, please go to "My Bookings", enter your surname and the eight-character booking code. You will have received the booking code by email after a successful booking. If you have not received an email, please also check your spam folder.

How do I receive my flight ticket?

If you booked on the AIR UNIQON website, you will not receive a physical ticket. After you have booked your trip, you will receive a booking code from us by email. If you have not received an email, please also check your spam folder.

With this booking code and your surname, you can check in via our online check-in area and then receive your digital boarding pass.

Alternatively, you can also check in at one of our check-in counters at the departure airport. For this, you will need your ID card or passport. You will then receive your printed boarding pass.

Only once you have your boarding pass can you pass through the security area at the airports and subsequently board the aircraft. Please keep your boarding pass safe.

What information do you need to provide when booking a flight with AIR UNIQON, operated by Avanti Air?

To complete a booking successfully, please provide the full name, date of birth and gender of all travellers. In addition, we draw your attention to our General Conditions of Carriage and the Privacy Policy.

Can I take my pet on a flight?

Yes, you can take your pet on a flight. However, you must observe the following points.

  1. We only accept dogs and cats.
  2. The number of dogs and/or cats allowed is limited.
  3. During the flight, the animal must be stowed in a carrier. This carrier must comply with IATA standards. Please inform yourself accordingly.
  4. The carrier must fit under the seat (55x40x20cm) and must not weigh more than 8 kg including the animal.
  5. Only one animal may be transported in each carrier.
  6. To ensure a smooth process, we kindly ask you to be able to present your animal's relevant documents at all times.

Check-in

How can I check in for AIR UNIQON flights operated by Avanti Air?

After you have booked your trip, you will receive a booking code from us by email. If you have not received an email, please also check your spam folder. You have the following options for checking in:

  • With this booking code and your surname, you can check in via our online check-in area and then receive your digital boarding pass. Online check-in is available 48 hours and up to 2:30 hours before the scheduled departure.
  • Alternatively, you can also check in at one of our check-in counters at the departure airport. For this, you will need your ID card or passport. You will then receive your printed boarding pass. Our check-in counters open 90 minutes and up to 45 minutes before the scheduled departure.

Families, Children & Babies

Can pushchairs or buggies be taken into the cabin on AIR UNIQON flights operated by Avanti Air?

No, pushchairs or buggies must be checked in as hold baggage. We will then transport them free of charge in the cargo hold. It is possible to transport your child in the pushchair or buggy up to the boarding gate. The pushchair or buggy will then be loaded and will be available to you immediately after arrival.

Are there discounted flight tickets for children?

Yes, babies and infants under 2 years of age pay a reduced ticket price.

Is it possible to bring baby food or food for my child on board?

Yes, you may bring baby food and/or food for your child on board.

Can children travel alone on AIR UNIQON flights operated by Avanti Air?

Children up to and including 4 years of age may not travel alone. Children aged 5 to 11 years inclusive require our paid companion service, which can be added during the booking process up to 48 hours before departure. For children aged 12 to 16 years inclusive, the companion service can be added optionally if desired.

Children are considered unaccompanied if they are travelling without an adult companion or at least a 16-year-old sibling.

The companion service costs €89 per person per flight segment.

What does my unaccompanied child need to begin their journey?

If your child is to travel alone, they must be at least 5 years old. For children aged 5 to 11 years inclusive, the paid companion service must have been added. At the airport, the fully completed and printed Unaccompanied Minor Form is required.

How does my unaccompanied child's journey work?

If the paid companion service for unaccompanied children has been added (mandatory for children aged 5 to 11 years inclusive), the Unaccompanied Minor Form must be fully completed and printed before travel for each child.

The accompanying person specified on the form hands over the child at the departure airport to the responsible person at the airport, who accompanies them to the aircraft and hands them over to the cabin crew. At the destination airport, a responsible person collects the child from the aircraft and accompanies them until they can be handed over to the specified receiving person.

Both the dropping-off and picking-up persons must be specified on the form and must be able to identify themselves with a valid official photo ID.

Baggage

What happens if my carry-on baggage and/or checked baggage is too large or too heavy?

If your baggage is too heavy or too large, you will have to pay a fee at the airport. As a general rule, on all AIR UNIQON flights operated by Avanti Air, carry-on baggage must not exceed 8 kg and checked baggage must not exceed 20 kg.

Prices vary depending on the fare booked:

BASIC: (Carry-on and/or checked baggage not included, 1x small bag (max. 40x30x25cm, 3kg) incl.)

  • 1x carry-on baggage (max. 55x40x20cm, 8kg) can be added online for €49.00 or
  • 1x checked baggage (max. 20kg) can be added online for €41.00

In case of excess weight

  • Checked baggage - €20 per kg. You pay this fee at the airport.

SMART: (1x small bag (max. 40x30x25cm, 3kg) + carry-on baggage (max. 55x40x20cm, 8kg) + 1x checked baggage (max. 20kg) incl.)

  • 1x checked baggage (max. 20kg) can be added online for €59.00

In case of excess weight

  • Checked baggage - €20 per kg. You pay this fee at the airport.

BUSINESS: (1x small bag (max. 40x30x25cm, 3kg) + carry-on baggage (max. 55x40x20cm, 8kg) + 2x checked baggage (max. 20kg) incl.)

In case of excess weight

  • Checked baggage - €35 per kg. You pay this fee at the airport.

Accessible Travel

What services are available for passengers with reduced mobility?

Please select the appropriate category for your mobility needs during the booking process under Passenger Details.

Wheelchair – Ramp (WCHR)

You can climb stairs and move independently to your seat, but require a wheelchair for longer distances at the airport.

Wheelchair – Stairs (WCHS)

You can move independently to your seat, but require assistance with climbing stairs (e.g. aircraft stairs).

Wheelchair – Cabin Seat (WCHC)

You require continuous assistance and cannot move independently.

Important notes:

For safety reasons, passengers with reduced mobility are not permitted to sit in emergency exit rows. Please skip the seat selection – we will assign you a suitable seat.

If you would like to bring your own wheelchair with a lithium-ion battery, this is generally possible. However, the battery must be removed before the flight and transported in the cabin. Unfortunately, we cannot transport wheelchairs with wet-cell batteries.

Please have a medical certificate ready confirming your fitness to travel. This may be requested at check-in.
